Psilocybin

A natural compound found in certain mushrooms that turns into psilocin upon ingestion; known for its hallucinogenic effects and potential to induce transformative experiences, introspection, and expanded consciousness; often used in indigenous South American cultures for religious, divinatory, and spiritual purposes.

Commonly known as magic mushrooms, psilocybin can also be self-administered in microdoses with little to no hallucinogenic effect at all; reported impact includes reduced anxiety and improved mood, augmentation of creativity, easier access to emotion; and an enhanced sense of connection to all living beings.

Note from Kelly
I personally microdose psilocybin on a 4-day on, 3-day off cycle for 3 months and then break for integration. I started with the Stamets Stack protocol, which suggests this cycle and also adds niacin (full flush) and lion’s mane mushroom to the mix. I ended up removing the niacin, but that is a personal preference. For more articles on microdosing, the Alchemist’s Kitchen has a small library of articles worth reading.

* It's vitally important to note that the use of these substances should only be approached responsibly and with intention. Do your own research and seek guidance from trained professionals, as some plant medicines and psychedelics can have significant effects on individuals' mental and physical well-being. For example, some of these are contraindicated for people taking monoamine oxidase-inhibiting harmala alkaloids (MAOIs) or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
