I was introduced to Dynamic Meditation on a yoga retreat and did not know anything about this practice. Up to that point in my life, I may have only scratched the surface of my internal workings… But this practice, as strange or uncomfortable as it may seem, is what moved the needle for me. It’s physical, verbal, breathy, exhaustive cycles allowed for stored emotions to be felt and then released. It is something that can be done in community or on your own. I prefer to be in community and after my retreat, I found a studio in NYC that practices this meditation style and I felt safe to fully express myself throughout the process.
It can be intense to experience, especially if you are new to healing and self discovery practices, but the results show you in time, just how important it is to get out of your comfort zone. I recommend this practice for curious healers and those who have been committed to their healing over time. If it’s not your cup tea, order something different next time š just keep going.
